Your Time to Bloom

Today I was thinking about something that happened a few years ago. I was going to run some errands. On my way, I decided to stop and wash my vehicle at the local car wash. I was outside washing my vehicle when the presence of the Lord came upon and a song sprang forth out of my mouth. It was a song I had not heard for over twenty years.

Impulsively, I began to sing a song by Bette Midler, called The Rose. It was odd, as I said, something that I couldn’t seem to stop. Amazingly, I knew all the words. There I was, washing off my vehicle while singing at the top of my lungs. I knew it was God and I knew He would reveal something wonderful to me. I wasn’t disappointed. Here’s the words to the song.

Some say love, it is a river

That drowns the tender reed.

Some say love, it is a razor

That leaves your soul to bleed.

Some say love, it is a hunger,

An endless aching need.

I say love, it is a flower,

And you its only seed.

It’s the heart afraid of breaking

That never learns to dance.

It’s the dream afraid of waking

That never takes the chance.

It’s the one who won’t be taken,

Who cannot seem to give,

And the soul afraid of dyin’

That never learns to live.

When the night has been too lonely

And the road has been too long,

And you think that love is only

For the lucky and the strong,

Just remember in the winter

Far beneath the bitter snows

Lies the seed that with the SON’S love

In the spring becomes the rose.

While I was singing, the Lord highlighted the word sun to me and changed it to SON. I could see it in my spirit as clear as day.

When I finally stopped singing this song, the Lord spoke to me, He said, “Many in My body feel this way. They feel they are in the dark, deep beneath the ground, hidden in darkness, they can’t see any light or any way out. They think their prayers will never be answered. They think they will never see the light at the end. They think I have forgotten them. It is the winter season of their life. But what they don’t realize is this; they are the seed and with the SON’S love, in the spring, they will become the rose.”

Oh, my goodness. He spoke with such tenderness and love; it was a power-filled anointed word.

Is this you? Do you find yourself in a dark season? Are you in a place where you can’t see the light around you? Where you feel you are literally buried in pain, disappointment and hurt? If so, God sees you and He knows right where you are. He has NOT forgotten you. His love is shining down on you right now, even as you read this. You will bloom. YOU WILL BLOOM. You are the seed He has lovingly planted and He is watching over His Word concerning you to bring it all to pass. You can trust in His love.

Eccl. 3:1-8 says, To everything there is a season, a time for every purpose under heaven: a time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck what is planted; a time to kill, and a time to heal; a time to break down, and a time to build up; a time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance; a time to cast away stones, and a time to gather stones; a time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing; a time to gain, and a time to lose; a time to keep, and a time to throw away; a time to tear, and a time to sew; a time to keep silence, and a time to speak; a time to love, and a time to hate; a time of war, and a time of peace.

There are seasons in life, even in our spiritual life. Winter is one of them. But winter is not a dormant season. It is not a season where there is no movement. It is not a season where God is not working. You may not see it, but something is happening in that dark place. God is preparing

the seed, giving it everything it needs, nourishing it, equipping it, and getting it ready to bloom. You are that seed.

I remember the first year I planted a vegetable garden. I didn’t think my green beans were ever going to come up. I would check them every morning and every evening. One evening I checked them just before dark and there was nothing there. The very next morning I went to the garden at dawn, and I saw my green beans! They had broken through the ground overnight. From that point on they grew fast. But they didn’t start growing that morning. They had been growing all along, I just couldn’t see it. So, it is with you.

John 12:24 says, Most assuredly, I say to you, unless a grain of wheat falls into the ground and dies, it remains alone; but if it dies, it produces much grain.

The Strong’s Concordance described the word die as a temporary place of separation. Temporary being the operative word. This too shall pass; it is only temporary. This winter season will not last forever. Something is happening during this season; even when you can’t see it with your natural eyes. You must trust God, trust His Word and trust in His unfailing love for you.

If this is for you, you may be asking, “so, what do I do in the meantime?” As the song says, with the son’s love, you become a rose. Begin to declare the son’s love over you. Ask God to saturate you in the Son’s Love. As you receive His love, you will indeed bloom. It’s your time, Your time to bloom.
