Kim Potter is a worshiper, teacher, encourager, and scribe. She has been tested and tried many times over the years and has come through the fire. She is solid in her teaching and anointed to speak. Because of her intimate walk with the Lord, she is a trusted voice in this hour.
As the president and writer of A New Thing Ministries, Kim has helped thousands of Believers by giving them keys to realizing who they are in God, and all that belongs to them in Christ. Her writings are simple, yet profound. Straightforward, yet revelatory.
Kim recently published her first book, Deeper Still.

Have you ever felt thrown off course by the storms of life? Most of us have.
Shallow roots lack strength to withstand storms. When our roots are shallow, we become vulnerable to adversity. Deep roots and shallow roots look the same…until the storm hits. When challenges come the weak or immature often crumble in their faith. (See Mt. 13)
Deep roots, however, help us to weather life’s storms. These are established by pursuing a mature relationship with God. By making time for daily communication with Him.
Colossians 2:7 teaches us to let our roots grow down deep into God. To build our lives on Him. Hence, our faith will grow, and we will become strong, overflowing with thanksgiving.
Our goal as Christians, must be to allow our roots to grow down deep into God. Unmovable, and strong. Where no adversity can uproot or destroy. By doing so, we will become like a tree firmly planted by the streams of water, ready to bring forth its fruit in its season, whose leaves will not wither and everything you do shall prosper and come to maturity. (Ps. 1:3)
Kim began her ministry while working for Dr. Norvel Hayes of Norvel Hayes Ministries. It was one of the most wonderful times of her life as she developed the heart of a worshipper, while learning from this man of God. It was during that season she discovered the awesome tangible presence of God that is available to each of us. A manifested presence we can walk in daily.
Kim was ordained by Dr. Norvel Hayes. After working with Dr. Norvel and his daughter, Zona, she began her own business, helping small ministries create books and other teaching materials. In 2005, she founded A New Thing Ministries which sends daily teachings to thousands of people all around the world. She is a content creator for Intercessor for America. Her articles have also appeared on The Elijah List, in Charisma Magazine, Spirit Fuel and iBelieve.com.
Kim is a worshipper of God – her greatest joy is to spend time in the palpable presence of her God. It is from that place of intimacy that her writings and teaching flow. She has a heart after God and His people. Her message is a message of hope. Her desire is to bring encouragement to those who feel cast down or cast aside, and to those who have become disappointed in life and its challenges.
Kim currently resides in historic Dayton, TN. She has one daughter, Breanne, and two grandchildren, Bryson, and Brailee. Some of her greatest joys are spending time with her daughter, watching her granddaughter ride horses, or having pleasant conversations with her grandson.
